Subject pronouns

A subject pronoun replaces the subject of a sentence — the person or thing doing the action:

"I" is always capital: In English, the pronoun I is always written with a capital letter — even in the middle of a sentence: "My mum and I are happy." Never write "my mum and i".

Object pronouns

An object pronoun replaces the object — the person or thing that receives the action:

Subject vs Object

Subject pronoun (does the action)Object pronoun (receives the action)

After verbs and prepositions → object pronoun: Use object pronouns after verbs (see him, call her, help us) and after prepositions (with me, for them, to her). Never say "with I" or "for she" — always "with me" / "for her".
