English But Better ("we," "us," "our," operated by Héctor Lino Bordón) respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect through englishbutbetter.org, why, and what choices you have.
We are not a large company with a dedicated legal team — this policy describes, in plain language, exactly what we actually do. If anything here seems unclear, contact us directly (see below) and we'll explain further.
English But Better is an independent English-learning website. The site is operated by Héctor Lino Bordón (Formosa, Argentina).

Contact and Feedback forms. When you use the Contact form or the "Send Feedback" form on the site, we collect your email address and whatever message you write, so we can read and respond to you. We do not use this information for anything other than replying to you and keeping a record of the conversation.
Purchases (Reading Packs, ENBB Premium membership). All purchases on this site are processed by Gumroad, a third-party payment platform — we do not directly collect or store your card details, billing address, or payment information. Gumroad acts as the merchant of record for these transactions and has its own privacy policy, which governs how they handle your payment data: https://gumroad.com/privacy
We do receive limited purchase information from Gumroad (such as your email address and what you purchased) so we can identify active members and provide access to premium content. We do not receive or store your payment card details at any point.
License keys. If you unlock premium content on this site by entering a Gumroad license key, that key is verified against Gumroad's systems and a record of the unlock is stored in your browser (not on our servers, and not tied to your identity beyond the key itself).
AI Writing Correction (Premium feature). This is entirely optional — nobody is required to subscribe to ENBB Premium or use this tool. We built it because we can't personally review every student's writing around the clock, and this gives you something available 24/7 to check what you write. If you choose to use it, the text you submit — along with the relevant question/prompt and, where applicable, our own instructional guide for that exercise — passes through our server only to be relayed to Anthropic (the company behind Claude, the AI model we use), which generates the feedback. We do not store, log, or read your submitted writing ourselves — it is not saved anywhere on our end, and we have no practical access to it beyond the moment it's relayed to Anthropic. By choosing to use this feature, you consent to your submitted text being processed by Anthropic for this purpose. We also keep a record of how many corrections you've used in the current billing cycle and any extra credits you've purchased, so we can enforce your plan's usage limits. This record is tied to your license key/membership, not to any other personal information, and is not shared with anyone beyond what's needed to operate the feature.
We do not use analytics or tracking software. This site does not currently use Google Analytics or any similar tracking tool to monitor visitor behavior.
