Welcome to English But Better (englishbutbetter.org), operated by Héctor Lino Bordón ("we," "us," "our"). By using this site, purchasing a Reading Pack, or subscribing to ENBB Premium, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

We're a small, independent project — these terms are written to be clear and fair, not to bury you in legal jargon.

1. What this site offers

English But Better provides English-learning content: free sections (Grammar, Exercises, Listening, Games, Videos, Level Test) and paid content (Reading Packs and ENBB Premium membership), sold and processed through Gumroad, our third-party payment provider.

2. Purchases and what you're allowed to do with them

When you buy a Reading Pack or subscribe to ENBB Premium, you get a personal-use license — meaning you can:

• Download and print it for your own study or teaching use.
• Use it with your own students, in your own classroom or tutoring sessions.
• Keep it permanently, for individually purchased packs (membership access lasts as long as your subscription is active).

You may NOT:

• Resell, redistribute, or publicly share the files (including posting them on other websites, file-sharing platforms, or handing them out beyond your own students/classroom).
• Claim the content as your own or remove our branding/attribution.
• Use the content to build a competing product or service.

If you're a school, tutoring company, or institution wanting to use this content at a larger scale than an individual teacher would (e.g. distributing to many teachers or many classrooms), contact us — we're happy to discuss it, but the standard personal-use license doesn't cover that automatically.

3. ENBB Premium membership

• Billed monthly or yearly, through Gumroad, until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime directly from Gumroad — no long-term commitment, no cancellation fee.
• While your membership is active, you get access to the full current library of premium content, plus anything new we publish during your subscription.
• If you cancel, you lose access to premium content at the end of your current billing period — you keep any individually-purchased Reading Packs regardless (those aren't tied to the membership).
• We may change membership pricing over time. If you're already subscribed at a given price, that price stays locked in for as long as your subscription remains active and uninterrupted — new pricing only applies to new subscribers, unless we notify you otherwise in advance.

4. AI Writing Correction (Premium feature)

This feature is entirely optional. No one is required to subscribe to ENBB Premium or use AI Writing Correction — it exists because we can't personally review every student's writing around the clock, and we wanted something available 24/7 to check what you write.

Active ENBB Premium members get 40 AI-generated writing corrections per month, included in the membership. Additional corrections can be purchased separately as credit packs, which never expire and carry over indefinitely once purchased. Included monthly corrections reset at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over if unused.

This feature uses a third-party AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to generate feedback. A few things worth knowing:

• The feedback is automated and formative — it's meant to help you improve, not an official grade, certification, or guarantee of any exam outcome.
• We can't guarantee the AI's feedback will be perfect. Like any automated tool, it can occasionally get something wrong. If you notice a clear error, let us know through the Contact form.
• This is not a substitute for a human teacher's judgment, especially for nuanced or borderline cases.
• If you use this feature, your submitted text is relayed directly to Anthropic to generate a response. We do not store, log, or read it ourselves — it is not saved anywhere on our end. By using this feature, you consent to your submitted text being sent to and processed by Anthropic for this purpose — see our Privacy Policy for details on how this is handled.
• This feature is exclusively for active Premium members and is not sold as a standalone product.

5. Refunds

Covered by our 7-day money-back guarantee: broken/corrupted files, content genuinely different from its description, or a duplicate/wrong purchase caused by unclear information on our site. Not covered: change of mind, or a purchase mistake unrelated to anything unclear on our end. Full details are in our FAQ. Refund requests are reviewed individually, not automatic.

Purchased AI Writing Correction credit packs follow the same 7-day guarantee, but only if unused — once corrections from a pack have been used, that portion is not refundable.

6. Educational content, not professional advice

The content on this site is intended for general English-language learning and teaching purposes. It is not a substitute for formal accreditation, official exam preparation guarantees, or professional educational assessment. We do our best to ensure accuracy, but we can't guarantee the material will meet every learner's specific needs or exam requirements.

7. Intellectual property

All text, exercises, illustrations, and branding on this site are owned by Héctor Lino Bordón / English But Better, unless otherwise noted. The personal-use license described in Section 2 applies specifically to purchased Reading Packs and Premium content — it does not transfer ownership or broader rights.

8. Limitation of liability

We work hard to keep this site accurate, secure, and available, but we can't guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the site or its content — our liability for any direct issue is limited to the amount you paid for the specific product or subscription in question.

9. Third-party services

Purchases are processed by Gumroad, which has its own terms of service and privacy policy governing payment handling. Some pages may embed content from YouTube. The AI Writing Correction feature (Section 4) uses Anthropic's Claude API to process submitted text. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of these third-party services.

10. Governing law

This site is operated from Argentina. These terms are governed by the laws of Argentina, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country of residence.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
