WHY FLASHCARDS DON'T WORK FOR FAMILY VOCABULARY
Most people try to learn family vocabulary by memorizing isolated words.
The problem? That's not how your brain actually uses family vocabulary. In real conversations, nobody asks: "What's the English word for 'cuñado'?" Instead, people ask questions like: "What do you call your wife's brother?" "Who is your grandmother's sister's daughter?" "What is your uncle's son to you?" These are relationship puzzles, not vocabulary questions. Flashcards only teach individual words. They don't teach how people are connected, so students often know dozens of family words but still freeze when they have to identify the correct relationship. To master family vocabulary, you need to think in family connections, not isolated translations. That's exactly what this tool helps you do.
HOW TO USE THIS INTERACTIVE FAMILY TREE
Forget memorizing long vocabulary lists. Instead, explore the family tree just like you would explore a real family. Click on any person in the tree. The selected person becomes YOU. Instantly, every other family member is renamed from that person's point of view. For example, if you click on Emma: • James may become my father. • Olivia may become my grandmother. • Noah may become my cousin. • Sophia may become my niece. Click someone else, and every relationship changes automatically. This allows you to practice hundreds of family relationships naturally, exactly the way native speakers understand them.
