It was Mother's Day, and Ben wanted to make breakfast for his mum. He found a recipe on his phone: pancakes with strawberries. Easy!
First he mixed the eggs, the milk and the flour. But he used salt, not sugar. Then he put the pan on the stove. It was too hot, and the first pancake was black. The second pancake stuck to the ceiling when he tried to turn it. The third one was good, but the dog ate it.
Ben was sad. He wanted to cry. Then his mum came into the kitchen. She looked at the mess and laughed. "Thank you, my love," she said. "Nobody ever made me breakfast like this."
They ordered pizza for breakfast and ate it together on the floor.
